Product Description
A speral conveyor or auger conveyor is a mechanism that uses a rotating helical screw blade, called a "flighting", usually within a tube, to move liquid or granular materials.
They usually consist of a trough or tube containing either a spiral blade coiled around a shaft, driven at one end and held at the other, or a "shaft-less spiral", driven at one end and free at the other. The rate of volume transfer is proportional to the rotation rate of the shaft. In industrial control applications the device is often used as a variable rate feeder by varying the rotation rate of the shaft to deliver a measured rate or quantity of material into a process.
Applications and Features
(1) Screw conveyor as a transport equipment is widely used in chemical, building materials, grain and other sectors , mainly for the delivery of powder, granular and small pieces material. It is not suitable for conveying perishable, sticky and agglomerated materials.
(2) The use of screw conveyor temperature is -20 ~ 50 ℃; conveyor angle β ≤ 20 °; transport length is generally less than 40m, the longest not more than 70m.
(3) Compared with other conveying equipment, the screw conveyor has the advantages of simple structure, small cross-sectional size, good sealing performance, safe and convenient operation and low manufacturing cost. Its shortcomings are more serious mechanical wear, low transmission capacity.During the transport process ,power consumption and material easily broken.

The thickness is better than others. The rotating part of the conveyor is sometimes called simply an auger.
Screw conveyors can be operated with the flow of material inclined upward. When space allows, this is a very economical method of elevating and conveying. As the angle of inclination increases, the capacity of a given unit rapidly decreases.
Working principle: When the rotating screw blade push material forward,the material cannot rotates together with the spiral blade because of the material weight and screw conveyor's frictional resistance.
There are different forms for spiral blade according to material: solid surface type, belt surface, leaf blade surface etc. There are end thrust bearing at the terminal of conveying material to react the screw shaft, if the length of screw conveyor was too long, we should install hanging bearing in the middle.
